French J. Steiner Bisque Head Doll with Walking Mechanism Body

c.1890, open crown bisque head marked “J. Steiner Paris A13”, body composed of papier mache and having free moving walking legs attached to a metal mechanism within the torso, arms jointed at shoulder, elbow and wrist, blue paperweight glass eyes, long-stroke painted eyebrows, painted upper and lower eyelashes, closed mouth, chin dimple, original blonde mohair wig, pierced ears, outfitted with layered underwear, striped dress, gold-toned metal belt buckle, socks, leather shoes, woven straw hat and gold-toned metal brooch; together with additional outfit including lavender coat with black velvet trim, black elbow length gloves and black faux fur accessories
