c.1800, having cream colored glaze over a pale earthenware clay and having transfer-print decoration; one side having a depiction of a memorial obelisk bearing Washington’s portrait with banners reading “WASHINGTON IN GLORY / AMERICA IN TEARS”; the other side showing a map of the original American colonies and Canada surrounded by allegorical figures; a medallion below the handle reads “A MAN / without example / A PATRIOT / without reproach” and below the spout the initials “EH” within a garlanded oval above the Great Seal of the United States; on the edge of the foot to the left of the handle there is a smudged and indistinct “WASH…”; accompanied by a Kovels online appraisal printout

Condition: Very Good, a small chip to lip of spout; abrasion to rim overall, particularly at tip of spout; small glazed-over indentation to edge of foot; short glaze cracks at points of handle's attachment; cross-shaped glaze crack to underside shows as a crescent shaped hairline in the interior; associated crazing to underside; glaze and surface flaws to interior, some having associated sub-glaze stains
