World War II German Army Officer Dagger with Portepee

Having unmarked 9.875-inch / 25-cm drop forged steel and nickel plated blade retaining strong cross-grain pattern throughout, uniformly finished cast alloy fittings, guard retaining buffer pad, WKC Type 4 style “tomahawk” / “hatchet” / “axe” variation of Wehrmacht eagle clutching wreath on obverse, oak leaf ferrule and “12 leaf” pommel, white / ivory tone molded celluloid grip with angled grooves and correct naval / army metallic silver tone fabric portepee; magnetic metal scabbard having dual suspension rings secured by oak leaf bands, retaining single throat screw on same edge as rings and having pebbled panels to obverse and reverse

Condition: Good, overall light wear consistent with normal use, blade having single pen-tip sized spot on lower portion between blade flat and edge, minimal scratches aside from runner marks, some surface smudging around blade flats near ricasso, possibly fingerprint / oil residue, maintaining at least 90-percent of factory finish including prominent crossgraining overall, minor scuffs and scratches to hilt throughout, some wear to finish / patina of smaller areas on eagle and wreath but most wear concentrated on guard opposite side of eagle including spotting which reveals lighter tone metal beneath, grip free of any cracks and having only minor scuffs and scratches; portepee having light wear most visible to wider portion directly above "acorn"; scabbard free of dents, having minimal scuffs or scratches throughout, slight gap between throat and scabbard more visible to one side but still secured
