World War II German SA Dagger by E.F. Horster (RZM)

RZM 1938-1942 pattern, having 8.75-inch / 22-cm drop forged steel and nickel-silver plated blade displaying prominent cross-graining pattern with engraved motto on obverse of blade and RZM ‘M7/36’ maker mark on reverse ricasso indicating manufacture by E.F. Horster & Co., Solingen, including bright nickel plated fittings, wood grip with obverse retaining inlaid nickel plated eagle clutching wreath as well as enameled and colored, runic SA insignia with painted magnetic metal scabbard having nickel plated locket retaining suspension ring and chape having ball finial, both secured to scabbard by a screw to each edge

Length: 14 3/4 inches (including scabbard)

Condition: Very Good, overall light wear consistent with normal use, heavy crossgraining to blade throughout, 1.5-inch portion of edge closest to eagle-facing side of guard having pen-point sized slight rolls, being difficult to see or feel with nail and not constituting any missing blade steel, occasional minor areas of light surface discoloration to blade throughout, runner marks to obverse and reverse overall, occasional light scuffs or scratches throughout, blade retains vast majority of nickel silver plating and lacks any major rust or deep pitting, nickel plated hilt and scabbard fittings appear to have aged uniformly, wood grip free of any cracks or major chips, having only light scuffs and scratches detail on eagle and enamel in insignia both well retained, painted scabbard free of any dents and retains all screws, having occasional light to moderate scuffs and scratches exposing base steel below in some instances but still retains vast majority of original finish
