World War II German SA Dagger by Malsch, Ambronn & Steinbach

Standard 1933 pattern, having 8.75-inch / 22-cm drop forged steel and nickel-silver plated blade displaying prominent cross-graining pattern with engraved and blackened motto on obverse of blade and Malsch & Ambronn, Steinbach ‘hearth and steelworker’ maker mark on the reverse ricasso, nickel silver fittings, wood grip with obverse retaining inlaid metal eagle clutching wreath, enameled and colored runic SA insignia with ‘gau’ SA Gruppe ‘Sa – Sachsen’ inspection stamp on reverse crossguard indicating 1933-1935 manufacture; magnetic anodized metal scabbard having nickel silver locket retaining suspension ring and chape having ball finial, both secured to scabbard by a screw to each edge

Condition: Very Good, overall light wear consistent with normal use, heavy crossgraining to blade throughout, minor discoloration to blade near ricasso, runner marks to obverse and reverse overall, occasional light scuffs or scratches throughout, blade retains majority of nickel silver plating and lacks any major rust or deep pitting, nickel silver hilt and scabbard fittings appear to have aged uniformly displaying only light wear consisting of occasional light scuffs, scratches and areas of finish loss / thinning throughout, wood grip free of any cracks or major chips, detail on eagle and enamel in insignia both well retained, anodized scabbard having wear spotting throughout but retains majority of original finish
