World War II German Air Force Officer Dagger

Having unmarked 10.25-inch / 27-cm drop forged steel and nickel plated blade, aluminum fittings including guard retaining buffer pad, eagle with outstretched wings and descending talons on obverse, reverse having pebbling within a solid outline, undersides of guard having outward oriented oak leaf motif, ferrule having diagonal motif and bulbous pommel retaining gilt finish on emblem having oak leaf wreath surrounded circular border with pebbled field mirrored on obverse and reverse, wire-wrapped burnt orange / honey tone celluloid grip with angled grooves; dual edge throat screw variation magnetic metal scabbard, retaining both screws, having dual suspension rings secured by oak leaf bands, mirrored pebbled panels and a mirrored vertical oak leaf motif on lowermost point

Length: 16 3/4 inches (including scabbard)

Condition: Very Good, overall light wear consistent with normal use, blade retaining over 95-percent of original factory plating, having sporadic areas of slight surface inconsistencies / smaller-than-pen-tip-sized dark areas to obverse and reverse as well as edges on furthest 0.25-inch portion of point, blade having light scuffs and scratches throughout, prominent runner marks on obverse and reverse of blade flat, blade otherwise free of any major rust or deep pitting, minimal wear to cast aluminum fittings including occasional light scuffs and scratches, minimal wear to grip including superficial 0.125-inch hairline crack running perpendicularly from ferrule and stopping at first wire which does not compromise the integrity of the grip, as well as (3) approximately 0.125-inch scratches aligned in column touching only the highest points of (3) adjacent grip segments, wire wrapping still fully in-tact and well secured with some center segments having slight movement, scabbard having minimal wear aside from specks of finish inconsistencies or losses concentrated mainly on edges between finial and nearest suspension ring, having occasional areas of light dirt accumulation in recessed areas
