1839 Civil War Foot Artillery Short Sword and Sheath
N. P. Ames, Model 1832, having ‘N.P Ames Springfield’ below eagle on outer side of ricasso and ‘United States 1839 WS’ on opposite side; 19.25-inch double-edge spear-point blade having double fuller on lower portion with upper portion having single fuller; hilt and crossguard made of stamped brass including incised American eagle motif on each side; leather-covered sheath having seam on inner side with brass-wrapped tip and mouth

Condition: Very Good, overall light wear consistent with materials and normal use; occasional areas of darkening to brass throughout as well as blade; no deep rust or pitting noted on blade; occasional smaller scuffs and areas of fine cracking to leather portion of sheath
