19th century, octagon shaped, having two etched pewter canisters inside, four bat-wing wood feet, depicting figural Chinese scenes on all sides and top
Condition: Very Good, splits at joins of lid and resulting losses to lacquer inside and out; cut nail used in constructing lid worked loose and protruding through lacquer; small losses to lacquer on side panels; overall light to moderate wear consistent with age and normal use, canisters having minor dents, craquelure overall, key missing
