Multi-Cultural Assortment
(8) items including (4) African and an Oceanic; three having lids, all having geometric patterns, Oceanic adorned with human and animal forms; an African Tuareg leather shoulder bag; a New Guinea gourd having knotted twine covering with strap, seed and shell bead attachments; and a pouch of hair-on hide incorporating hooves
Provenance: The Estate of George ‘Yorgo’ Demetrakopoulos; professor, assistant director of the Medieval Institute and assistant to the dean at Western Michigan University, Kalamazoo, Michigan from 1965-2000

Height: 16 inches, Diameter: 6 1/2 inches (gourd form with lid)
Condition: Very Good to Good, overall light to moderate wear, (2) missing lids, wood cracking due to age, chipping, finish loss, dirt accumulation, insect damage; occasional short splits to leather and strap broken on Tuareg; hide stiff and (3) holes to flap of pouch
