Japanese Mokugyo Buddhist Carved Wood Slit-Drum Set
(3) lacquered, of graduated size; the middle-sized having indistinct inscription on side below handle; together with a Southeast Asian carved wood architectural piece depicting a turbaned rider on a rearing horse, trampling a foe, retaining carved tenons for attachment to a structure (23.75-inches tall by 12-inches wide by 4-inches long)
Provenance: The Estate of George ‘Yorgo’ Demetrakopoulos; professor, assistant director of the Medieval Institute and assistant to the dean at Western Michigan University, Kalamazoo, Michigan from 1965-2000
