(3) sets of (3) Oban-sized woodblock prints, late 19th century, including Toyohara Chikanobu (Japanese, 1838-1912) ‘Phoenix Boat and Emperor’, depicting the Emperor and Empress Meiji viewing the cherry blossoms from a boat, and ‘Celebration Party of the New Palace’, depicting the royal couple and guests having a banquet in Western dress; as well as Utagawa Kunisada III (Japanese, 1848-1920) ‘Incarnation of a Butterfly’, depicting Kabuki actors on stage; each triptych in a wood frame under glass, information labels to each verso
