Lot 169:
Description
Ray Kobald (Mexican / American, b.1931) Plaster Sculpture Assortment
Undated and unsigned, (3) examples of one-legged figures constructed using plaster casting gauze; two on wood plinths; the partially painted example also employing clothesline to bind a layer of woven plastic sacking reminiscent of a monk cloth robe, beads and wooden cross, and surmounted by a cast of a monkey skull; the two unpainted items appear to be the plaster patterns for unrealized bronze sculptures with one having pencil indications of parting lines for a mold
