C.E. 600 – 900 Remojadas Veracruz terracotta head fragment, having a headdress and parts of the face and eyes darkened with bitumen; together with a wooden base; provenance: Chicago, Illinois estate
Condition: Good, fragmentary, having chips where formerly attached to larger sculpture; broken and lost elements of headdress and other extremities; surface chip at eyebrow; ear spool cracked and repaired; overall light to moderate wear consistent with age and normal use
Height: 6 1/4 inches, Length: 5 3/4 inches, Width: 4 3/4 inches (head without base)
