English William and Mary Chest of Drawers / Desk
Early 18th century two part with the top section having two doors with inset shaped and beveled mirrors, chased brass pulls, opening to seven drawers with round brass pulls; the bottom section having four drawers with chased brass pulls and escutcheon plates, the top drawer concealing a pull out desk having interior drawers and cubbyholes; all drawer fronts in book matched veneers over oak, the carcass of pine; case constructed of pine and oak with veneers of flame mahogany, bun feet front and back; Provenance Malcolm Franklin Antiques, Chicago
Condition: Very Good, overall light to moderate wear consistent with age and normal use; right side coved piece above drawers pulling out, edge of desk just below warped; a few age splits to wood across the back panels; replaced hardware
