George III Rolled Paper Tea Caddy
19th century, hexagonal form with ebony inlay to each angled edge and corner, the planes of the box with elaborate floral, foliate, and scrolling decoration formed from bits of rolled polychrome paper, the hinged lid opening to reveal a single compartment with fitted lid bearing further rolled paper decoration and a brass ring handle
Condition: Good, hinges and brass lock inlay are not attached, overall moderate wear consistent with age and normal use, small center piece may be a missing from one side
