Cobalt Blue Stoneware Butter Crock Assortment
Three examples of salt glaze crockery having blue slip decoration, including one having a paper label stating a valley of Virginia origin and marked ‘Cloud Pattern Butter Crock’, another similarly patterned and one having applied lug handles
Condition: Very Good, glaze flaws and surface irregularities typical of these wares; labeled example having chip to interior of lip; chips to handles and rim of handled crock; no cracks noted; overall light wear consistent with age and normal use; please note: this lot came from a smoking house and a slight odor may be present
