F. B. Norton & Co. and Lyons Stoneware Jars
Two salt glazed and cobalt slip-trail decorated two-gallon jars having applied lug handles, one stamped ‘2 F. B. NORTON & CO. WORCESTER, MASS’, the other having its lid and stamped ‘LYONS’
Condition: Very Good, glaze flaws and surface irregularities typical of these wares; Norton jar having minor chips to a handle and underside near edge; lid of Lyons jar having firing crack to underside that surfaces either side of handle; no other cracks noted; glazed-over chip to rim of Lyons jar, minor chips lower edge; overall light wear consistent with age and normal use; please note: this lot came from a smoking house and a slight odor may be present
