Undated; faintly signed lower left; artist and title on frame; alternate title ‘The Truant’ on reverse of canvas depicting tardy students lingering outside the schoolhouse; gold-painted frame having gesso mounts
Condition: Very Good, tear on left in arm of taller child; warping upper right; light wear at frame edge upper right and top; craquelure overall; light dirt accumulation; moderate wear and chipping to frame, having been repaired and repainted; not examined out of the frame
