L. Frank Baum, George M. Hill Co., Chicago and New York, 1900; illustrated by W. W. Denslow; early edition, third state spine imprint having serifed type, ‘C’ encircling ‘o’; twenty-four color plates all present
Condition: Good, overall light to moderate wear consistent with age and normal use; wear-through at spine ends and other extremities; front hinge starting to split; moderate soil to covers; binding sound but shaken, probably repaired; interior hinges holding with fabric visible; ink inscription on front paste-down endpaper; front free endpaper lacking; rubber stamp on title page, top edge; page 13 reinserted but edgeworn; plates all present but a few have edge wear suggesting they have been reinserted; plate facing page 80 has a tape repair; plate at page 92 has edge wear and soil; plate at page 160 has short tears; plate at page 254 has short tears and a chipped corner
