c.1947, cast aluminum ashtray having train marked ‘U.S.A 1781’ and tray marked ‘757 RY. SHOP BN. KASSEL GERMANY 1945’, made by the 757th railway battalion stationed in Kassel, Germany shortly after World War II; metal rod connecting to a US Transportation Corps design base having a shield and wing design
Condition: Good, moderate wear; three handles missing from the base; light rust on the rod
