Native American Sioux Full Length Beaded Trade Cloth Leggings
c.1870, a pair of dark blue (almost black) trade cloth dance leggings, reportedly belonging to Sitting Bull, trimmed with bands of color cloth including flat braid US uniform trim and having tipi and cross on white ground lazy stitch beadwork on tanned hide sewn to the cloth; together with ‘Mystic Warriors of the Plains’ by Thomas Mails, 1972, hardcover in dust jacket, having an illustration of these leggings on page #331, a description in text on page #328
