1729, commonly known as ‘The Principia’ published by Benjamin Motte in two volumes, translated by Andrew Motte, remaining the first and only translation of Newton’s ‘Philosophia Naturalis Principia Mathematica’, first published in London in 1687, inscription on front page of ‘J. Pollard, 1855’, both having engraved frontispieces, multiple folding engraved plates, mottled calfboards, professionally re-backed, gilt spine titles and a signature; together with a modern paperback copy
