First edition Dutch language ‘Paraphrasis, Verklaring Ober’t Nieuwe Testament’, translated from the Latin by Ellert de Veer, published by Jan J. Bouman, Amsterdam, 1660 and printed by Thomas Fonteyn in Gothic type, engraved portrait on the title page, decorative initial letters, full vellum binding having hand-inked title and author on spine (giving 1522 publication date of the Latin 1st edition)

overall light to moderate wear consistent with normal use, boards moderately warped, head and foot of spine pulled, splits and small losses to vellum at hinges, text block square and solid except for title page which remains attached to front free end paper, separation behind title page still attached by sewing cords, similar condition at rear of book, short splits to interior hinges, previous owner rubber stamp to front free end paper, no other writing or marks noted, edge toning throughout, occasional light foxing, some thumbed and folded corners
