overall moderate wear consistent with normal use, splits to leather at hinges, scuffs, wear-through at corners, spine label legible, text block square and solid, front free end paper lost, binding tape visible at front hinge (two blank pages before frontispiece could supply a repair), rear free end paper glued down to board, book likely recased, moderate edge toning to preliminary pages from leather (also at rear), light edge toning throughout, some creases to end papers, occasional light smudges, no inscriptions, names, marginalia noted
